Waste Burning

Renergenc WTE Power Plant is based on well-proven Fluidized Bed Technology (FBT), a state-of-the-art combustion technology for different solid matters. A fluidized bed incinerator burns the fuel in and above the fluidized bed consisting of inert material (typically natural sand). The FBT is suitable for Ghana waste which is typically unsorted and contains sand and other inert materials from the source.
The fluidized bed with large heat capacity maintains combustion and evens out fluctuations caused by varying waste quality. There is low environmental emissions as a result of low temperatures and efficient combustion. The simple construction with no moving parts inside the combustor ensures reliable operation with low maintenance costs which is crucial for electricity production in Ghana.

Waste Feed

The waste fuel is fed above the fluidized bed via air-cooled fuel feeding chutes. Renergenc fluidized-bed incinerator is applied for a wide range of wastes; municipal solid wastes, low-calorific wastes like waste liquids or sludge, and also high-calorific wastes like discarded tires or plastic waste. Renergenc fluidized-bed incinerator is also well suited for mixed firing together with waste from landfills, excreta sludge or sewage sludge.

Air

Air is introduced during fluidization. The effective air together with combustion control results in low NOx flue gas emissions.
